Here and at Dub near Olomouc ‘heavenly manna’ fell in 1847, as the old chronicle of Kojetín's Ivan farming family records: ‘That year great hunger afflicted the people, but in places manna rained down and people gathered and cooked it. It also fell here at Jestřábí in the lord's forest, looking like potatoes when they begin growing in spring, and tasted sweet.’ The chronicler O. Mazal of Dub confirms: ‘On 29 June 1847 manna fell as large as vetch, peas, coarse rye, and in many other forms. It rained in the blacksmith's garden in Dub on Saints Peter and Paul's Day.’
