Petr Lipenský of Týn, an alchemist recorded in 1589 as owning a house here, came from Kojetín. He worked for Vilém of Rožmberk in Český Krumlov. The Rožmberk archive in Třeboň preserves his letter to Vilém in Prague, asking leave to visit Moravia, where his father was experimenting with a certain Martin Rezl.
