Beside the road from Koberovy to Zadní Smrčí a conical Devil's Hill rises in the valley. A version of the tale known from the Jičín region is told here. (See Zebín.) A local cobbler once wagered much money with the devil over who would reach Vyskeř first. The devil had to run from Sněžka, the cobbler only from Navarov castle. Below Hamštejn the devil was catching up, but had to shake sand from his shoe, forming today's Devil's Hill. Meanwhile the cobbler reached Vyskeř and won.
