A great monastic treasure supposedly lies somewhere underground in the Benedictine monastery founded in 1115 by Prince Vladislav I, who is also buried here. In 1639 Swedish troops approached again, as in 1631 and 1634. The abbot ordered a local mason to wall the treasure into an underground recess. The mason swore secrecy, but his wife eventually drew the secret from him. Later searches for the sealed recess and the passage through which he had been led out into a rocky valley repeatedly failed. The monastery was dissolved in 1785 and converted to a château.
