Jablunkov · STORY FROM THE ATLAS

Outlaws' treasures in the surrounding mountains

Below the summit of Velký Stožek in the Jablunkov uplands lies a slope strewn with enormous stones, called Štítovka. A great outlaws' treasure is supposedly buried beneath them. Another such treasure is said to lie beneath a stone slab at Kostýlky. When an outlaw from Jablunkov was once being hanged in Hungary, he allegedly revealed its hiding place to a compatriot. The latter searched in vain for many years, so the treasure still rests somewhere here.
