St Procopius, one of the patron saints of the Czech lands, was supposedly born in the village. Several legends about him are told here. In the surrounding area he ploughed with two pairs of devils harnessed to his plough. Here he completed the Devil's Furrow, and when he scraped mud from the ploughshare a mound formed, now called Homole. A roadside stone was also shown here against which St Procopius pressed a devil so hard that the devil's backside left an imprint. The Prokopka spring still exists; he supposedly fetched water there as a small boy. In the 19th century Václav Krolmus recorded a local tradition about apparitions of a White Lady. (See Sázava.)
