At the former château, later used as the town hall, the so-called Monk's Courtyard is shown. A relief on one wall depicts a monk with severed head and hands. It recalls the time when the château was being built. According to legend a monk was walled in there, and his ghost later appeared whenever danger threatened the town. He always walked from the town hall to the barracks, formerly the Jesuit monastery, where he vanished. He supposedly appeared in 1832, and three days later the town burned down.
