Frýdštejn - Hrad · STORY FROM THE ATLAS

The Accused Gem-Cutter

The castle, now only ruins, partly carved into sandstone rocks, supposedly had its own treasure hidden somewhere here, like many others. It came from a robbery at Rohozec Château. Legend says a local gem-cutter found and sold it. But the jewels were recognised and returned to their rightful owner. The cutter was arrested and only with difficulty proved his innocence.
