Drahotín · STORY FROM THE ATLAS

The Devil’s Rock

On a meadow southeast of Drahotín, beside the path to Načetín, lies a stone the devil once intended to drop on Kladruby Monastery. Furious at its bells, he decided to destroy both monastery and monks. One night he tore an enormous boulder from Starý Herštejn and dragged it north through the air on his back. As he passed over Drahotín, a cockerel crowed and, with a terrible curse, the devil dropped it.
