Legends of a Demolished Castle

Three kilometres north of the village once stood Boršov Castle, or Borschengrün. On stormy nights the Wild Hunter races around it, supposedly the enchanted castle custodian. Another burgrave of Boršov is said to have been murdered out of jealousy on the road south of the castle towards Dolní Žandov. Remains of a church built there by Jindřich of Plavno once stood nearby. Beside it sometimes appears a black man’s ghost with a dog that jumps onto people’s shoulders. A secret passage supposedly led from the castle into the opposite hill, concealing a treasure.
