A treasure was supposedly hidden in the rocks beneath the castle. On Good Friday, when the depths of the earth open, the rock splits and ducats pour into the Sázava. A small piece of gold sheet can occasionally be found in it. The display of the so-called Šternberk Treasure, found in a remote part of the castle in 1971, shows that the legend had a basis in reality. It includes small objects from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
