The rock rising beyond Čejov is called the Devil’s Hoof. According to legend, a shepherd once grazed his sheep here and sat on the rock. One day, as the sheep kept scattering, he cursed, “Devil take you!” At that moment the sheep turned to stone, laughter rang from the rock and a heavy stamp was heard. Ever since, the rock has borne the print of the devil’s hoof, and the scattered stones around it are supposedly the petrified flock.
