Near the village at the edge of Nadějkov forest stands a small Baroque building long known locally as the Devil's Chapel. A resident, Jan Kašpar, built it in the mid-eighteenth century in thanks for miraculous rescue from the Devil's temptation. The Devil appeared as a young huntsman, promising riches if he jumped from the tallest fir tree in the forest. Kašpar agreed, but at the last moment the Virgin Mary appeared and warned him. Only then did the woodcutter recognise the Devil in the huntsman. A picture and inscription in the chapel also depicted this curious event.
