Above Malá Skála, on a steep spur, lie the remains of the Gothic Vranov Castle, abandoned as early as the fifteenth century. In 1820 the estate's owner F.Z.Römisch created a gallery of famous figures carved in stone, the so-called Pantheon, with a summerhouse, obelisks and inscriptions. One figure commemorated by this early Romantic creation is the mythical Celtic bard Ossian, to whom an entire cave is dedicated. A well in this cave was thought by the former owners, the Desfours family, to hide treasure. It was also said to connect with the Jizera. A goose thrown into it supposedly emerged in the river below the castle.
