Near Petrovice, at the confluence of the Metuje and Hlavňovský streams, stand the ruins of Vlčinec Castle. Robbers supposedly lived there in Hussite times. Jan Žižka burned the castle, and the robber knights' leader was beheaded after becoming wedged in a rock cleft while seeking escape. Mysterious drumming, music and other sounds can sometimes be heard from the ruins. A.Jirásek also retold the legend of the Hussite conquest in his Old Bohemian Legends. A secret passage supposedly leads from Vlčinec to Ostaš hill. Great treasures hidden in the cellars glow with bluish flames on Palm Sunday or on the night of St Philip and St James.
