Before 1130 a Benedictine monastery was founded here, on the site of today's southeastern part of Vilémov called Klášter. The wealthy monks supposedly hid a great treasure here, including twelve silver statues of apostles and a golden statue of Christ. Under former owners, the counts of Millesimo, unsuccessful attempts were made to recover it. A château stands on the monastery site; some traditions place the treasure inside it and others in its park. Only the most virtuous person in the area can obtain it. Near Klášter stands an enormous elm. Legends also place the mythical monastery treasure beneath it, supposedly the second largest in Bohemia after the treasure in St Barbara's Church in Kutná Hora.
