Věžka- Hrad · STORY FROM THE ATLAS

A Complicated Procedure

Beneath the ruins of Věžka Castle near Druztová is supposedly a secret passage leading to an underground pond, about halfway along. A duck sits there on golden eggs. Instructions for obtaining them say that one must first hear three Masses, then bathe in the underground pool and finally walk straight to the duck's nest while continuously reciting incantations aloud. The duck rises and permits the eggs to be taken. It supposedly lays others later. Other treasures are buried here too, but anyone trying to dig them up is said to die on the third day, because a harmful green flame blows over them.
