On the so-called Boží hora (554 m), west above Verneřice, lie the overgrown remains of the Baroque pilgrimage Church of the Holy Trinity, built in 1731 and once the destination of annual pilgrimages from the area. The hill was formerly the chief home of the dwarfs. They were friendly to people and rewarded services generously. A female dwarf once asked a shepherd girl to comb her hair. The girl agreed and received a handful of leaves that later turned to gold. When the church was built, the dwarfs moved away because they supposedly could not bear the sound of its bells.
