A secret underground passage led from the castle above today’s Vranov Reservoir to the old castle of Vranov. During a war left unspecified in the legend, while foreign troops besieged Cornštejn, two noblewomen agreed to escape through the passage to Vranov. They never arrived, however, and people in the area say that they still wander beneath Cornštejn.
