Střekov is one of our most beautiful castles, resembling the German castles on the Rhine. The Střekov cliff was once called the Bohemian Lorelei. At night the ghost of a youthful White Lady wanders through the romantic ruins. She is said to have been a daughter of the owner of Vrabinec Castle, thrown by her cruel husband from the Střekov rock into the Elbe. People also believed that treasures were buried in the castle; the zealous work of treasure hunters contributed greatly to its devastation.
