Several versions of a giant legend are associated with the local hill (827 m). In one, he was originally a castle lord whom a witch turned into a giant with a magic potion. No one recognised him, and he had to live in the forest. When he died, moss and bushes grew over him; he is supposedly still sleeping somewhere there, and people walk quietly through the woods so as not to wake him. In another tale he was the lover of a maiden from the castle, whom a witch enchanted in the same way, but he regained his former shape with the aid of a maiden's blood.
