Above Tematín stand the ruins of the Gothic castle of Bezovce, supposedly visited in ancient times by a dragon that terrified its inhabitants. One day they set a trap and caught it. It is said to have weighed five hundred kilograms and thrashed so violently that they could barely bind it. Two pairs of oxen were needed to haul it away, and it took great effort to beat it to death with shots and clubs.
