Telč · STORY FROM THE ATLAS

The Frightened Swede

As on other Rosenberg estates, a White Lady appeared at the local château. In May 1645, the Swedes occupied the town. Their commander, to whom the White Lady appeared at night, was so frightened that the following day he ordered a feast to be prepared for the poor. A life-size portrait of Perchta, the White Lady, is displayed at Telč Château.
