In the seventeenth century, the Tachov estate belonged to a powerful, cruel lord, Baron Jan Filip Hussmann, who among other things built a monastery for the Minims in Tachov. He rode around his estate on horseback and tormented his subjects. After his death, his spirit began to appear, especially on Christmas Eve, in a fiery carriage drawn by four horses. A little black dog supposedly ran behind each hoof. Others instead saw him with a large black dog at his side. Baron Hussmann is buried in the middle of a forest, and a chapel stands over his grave.
