In the suburb of Bezděkov, during Advent between eleven and midnight, people saw a light: an apparition like a lantern containing two large burning candles. It emerged from St Wenceslas’s Pond. It is the cursed spirit of a wicked scribe who once cruelly extorted the subjects during a famine. At the former execution ground, the ghost of an innocent young man haunted the place for a long time. It supposedly even clung to the back of a girl who wandered there.
