Human bones were found in an alcove of a small chamber near the watchtower. They are said to be the remains of the castle lord’s daughter, whom her father first had walled up alive in the church at nearby Janovičky. From her prison came the mournful singing of a song the victim herself had composed. Under pressure from the local people, the cruel father freed his daughter, only to have her finally walled up inside the castle. The song continued to be sung for a long time afterwards during processions to the church at Janovičky. The legend is a Czech counterpart of the story of Abélard and Héloïse.
