Many legends surround the old castle ruins on a striking conical hill (553 m), especially immense treasures inside the mountain which become accessible only on Palm Sunday. One version gives them a guardian giant with fiery eyes, another a White Lady. A local version tells of a mother who came with her child to the mountain’s foot at Easter and saw an open iron door with heaps of coal beyond. She gathered some but forgot her child. The coal later turned to gold, while the child spent a whole year inside the mountain, watched over by the White Lady.
