Brumovice · STORY FROM THE ATLAS

The Headless Rider

At the end of the village towards Kobylí, a stone cross stands on a gentle rise. The headless ghost of the owner of the Jezero estate, who murdered his father in life, appeared here. He rode here at night, pointing with a raised hand towards his family’s estate. The cross supposedly commemorates the rescue of a local carter whose horses bolted after seeing the ghost, nearly costing him his life.
