Burial mounds from the Hallstatt period and later Slavic ones from the seventh and eighth centuries are scattered through the surrounding woods. Below the village, above the Smutná stream, lies a small wood called Poušť, the Wilderness. Many stones lie scattered there, resembling a petrified herd with its shepherd. According to legend, a local farmer’s wife cursed them when the shepherd stayed too long at pasture.
