Beneath the old town, particularly under the square, lie now-collapsed underground passages on several levels. Many are remnants of former silver mining. A mysterious tunnel also leads from Mariánské Valley through the whole town, emerging behind the former meat market above the stream. It may be a forgotten eighteenth-century adit. It is supposedly still accessible by rolling aside a stone slab roughly halfway along Mariánské Valley.
