Pivoň · STORY FROM THE ATLAS

The Petrified Loaves at Haltrava

An Augustinian monastery once stood here, whose monks baked bread and distributed it during a great famine. A German allegedly tried to cheat them by hiding one loaf in Haltrava forest and returning for another. When he came back, both loaves had turned to stone. Two boulders resembling joined loaves remain at the place called At the Two Loaves. (See Včelary.)
