Gold was once mined at Kozí Hory. A variant of a miners’ initiation legend tells how they found a golden goat underground. Once the news spread, people came for gold chipped from its body. As long as they worked from the rear, the goat grew back overnight and was whole the next day. But when someone insisted on cutting from the front, the goat vanished before morning. The hamlet allegedly took its name from the legend.
