Mutěnín · STORY FROM THE ATLAS

The Phantom Battle

On clear moonlit nights, battle noise, drums, trumpets and shouting can be heard on Kamenné moře hill above the village. In 1813–1814 a fierce battle with heavy losses was fought here between Napoleon’s and Russian troops. The souls of the fallen continued fighting for many days after the real battle ended, and are allegedly still sometimes heard.
