The spirit of the cruel estate administrator Rieder haunted this area for a long time. He appeared to many people at night and terrified them, and the inhabitants complained. Eventually a skilled exorcist was summoned. He imprisoned Rieder’s ghost in a bottle and carried it to the Krkonoše Mountains. There he submerged the bottle and its spirit in a lake and weighted it down with several stones so that the ghost could not escape.
