Every hundred years the ghosts of six enchanted old men appear at the castle, awaiting release. On that occasion the castle also appears in its former splendour and glory. Each old man sits beside a fireplace in a separate chamber. In the seventh hall are two elderly hosts, one in a scarlet cloak and the other in a white robe with a bloody stain on his chest. Anyone wishing to free them must thank them for their hospitality in a particular ceremonial manner. Nobody has done so yet, and each time the two elderly hosts turn into black vultures and fly out of the castle window into the night. With a crash the castle then turns back into today’s ruins.
