A Templar Legend

The castle was founded by the Knights Templar. Among the evidence was a wall painting still known in the eighteenth century in a room on the second floor of the northern château wing. A treasure hidden in the old banqueting hall is also mentioned. Its location was indicated by a painted Moor with a lantern and a procession of Templars. A château clerk supposedly stole it after deciphering the mysterious clues in the mural. Another version of the legend speaks directly of a Templar’s ghost guarding the treasure.
