Pilgrimages to the miraculous statuette

After 1617, when the prior of the Augustinian monastery brought a Virgin Mary statuette from Brno that was considered miraculous, numerous pilgrimages came here. The lords Žalkovský built a chapel for it with an altar and an eternal light. It was supposedly hung with many thank-offerings for restored sight and other miraculous cures. After 1784, when Joseph II dissolved the monastery, pilgrimages were prohibited and gradually ceased.
