Jevíčko · STORY FROM THE ATLAS

Petrified treasure hunters

On wooded Kumperk hill above the town are two pits and two nearby boulders. The boulders are said to be petrified treasure hunters and the pits the result of their fruitless labour. They once searched for a treasure here, but when the desired chest appeared, one spoke. The treasure sank into the earth with a crash and the men turned to stone. Rain and wind have now washed away their human forms.
