A stone stands before the château in Hričov. A legend links it to a wicked lord who imprisoned an innocent widow, the castle's original owner, and later also a passing monk. Then a miracle occurred: the next day the monk stood before the château gate again, but this time made of stone. Monsters supposedly appeared, set the castle ablaze and the evil lord died in the fire. Since then the stone monk has stood before the gate, and anything a person builds there by day is said to be scattered by morning.
