According to the East Bohemian chronicler Sál, an ancient house stands beside the church of the Holy Spirit, with a large cross in its passageway. It is said to protect an immense treasure hidden in the house below it. Legend says that liturgical vessels, precious vestments and old hymnals from the church of the Holy Spirit were hidden here from an enemy. Several times a thief tried to dig up the treasure, but each time he fell dead and turned black as soot. The riches still lie somewhere here.
