The village chapel of the Virgin Mary was built in the previous century by a miserly married couple. Several trustworthy witnesses saw their ghosts after their deaths. A farmer who bought their farm slept alone in the house for the first three days and was awakened three times in succession by the eerie cry “Zefe!” Although he searched the whole building, he found no one. Later, when the farmstead was rebuilt, a silver coin was found behind a beam.
