Originally a medieval fortified manor in the Mastník valley, the building was converted into a neo-Gothic château in the first half of the nineteenth century. It then belonged to Lord Karabinský, who was said to have found no peace after death and haunted the château. People saw his ghost at noon pushing a wheelbarrow along the roof and ramparts. They supposedly heard stones spilling from it as he went.
