The monastery was once very wealthy and owned curious religious relics, listed in a surviving long inventory that includes 'splinters of Noah's Ark'. Until recently, fantastic tales circulated of treasures that remained buried beneath it despite repeated plundering. They were supposedly recoverable on Palm Sunday and guarded by dwarfs.
