At the end of the eighteenth century, a religious sect of Arians or Adamites arose in Zdechovice, evidenced by numerous depictions of Adam and Eve in the village. Its dead members were buried not in the local cemetery but in a little pine grove on Katovec, a rock to the right of Zdechovice. Some supposedly also lie beside the road before the quarry. Every midnight they all rise, place one of their number on a bier and carry it downhill towards V obickách or Zabitá žena. They pray together there and then peacefully return to their graves. They supposedly must continue this nightly service until an innocent person exhumes their bones and lays them in consecrated ground. It was also said that anyone seeing the ghostly procession at night would die within a year.
