A White Lady with a cane and a bunch of keys at her waist appeared at the château. Sometimes she wore black. On her head was an old bonnet with ostrich feathers. She appeared only at night, passing from room to room, lamenting sorrowfully and tapping the stone floor with her cane. In one version she was the spirit of a miserly owner, whose appearances ceased when her property was distributed among the poor. Another version identifies her as a woman who was once supposed to inherit the château. Her ghost still searches in vain for the will hidden somewhere beneath the floor.
