The Barn Spirit appears as a tall man with a large hat, wrapped in straw bands. He can grow or shrink and particularly enjoys stretching out in empty barns. His role is to guard the harvest, making him one of the least dangerous beings in this directory.

The Počátky and Železný Brod regions, and Moravian Wallachia.
What the old legends say
The Barn Spirit protects the harvest and is generally harmless. Protection therefore consists more in respect: do not destroy provisions, behave recklessly in the barn or provoke the spirit. No special defensive spell was needed.
