John of Nepomuk — Charles Bridge's Secret

In 1393 John of Nepomuk was tortured and thrown into the Vltava. Later tradition connected his death with the queen's confessional secret. People still touch the relief by his statue on Charles Bridge: a popular belief says it brings good luck and guarantees a return to Prague.
