The Mummies of Vamberk

The legends of the fext may have arisen and survived because of the mummified bodies from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries resting in the groin-vaulted crypt beneath the Church of St Procopius. The fext himself supposedly lies here in an oak coffin. He formerly stood leaning against one of the tomb's pillars.
