In 1420, Jan Žižka had the Adamites burned at the stake in Klokoty, a village immediately adjoining the town. A Baroque pilgrimage church dedicated to the Virgin Mary stands here, with cloister walks. A path leads from it to Dobrá voda, a spring once credited with miraculous powers. Great pilgrimages came here from the surrounding area. Václav Krolmus recorded the following legend: herdsmen were once grazing cows at Dobrá voda when they saw a white female figure come out of the spring three times and walk among the herd. After a while she returned to the spring and vanished into it.
