The apparition of a White Lady also appeared on Dračí hora, also called Račí hora, a hill southeast of town, at the site of the old gallows. Other ghosts appeared here as well, and a broadside ballad was once composed about them. The White Lady’s ghost was also often seen in the greenhouse in the garden of the U zvonu Hotel. She frequently walked around the chapel in the Veselské suburb. Another place of apparitions was a little wood beside the road from Soběslav to Vesce. Tradition also tells of a stepmother whose ghost once appeared here as a vampire dressed in red.
